SRC Recognized at National Family Medicine Conference

Wendy Hsiao, an SRC Research Chair, presented a poster on SRC student involvement and patient satisfaction at the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine Conference on Medical Student Education in Atlanta, GA. The poster, authored by medical student Wendy Hsiao; pharmacy student Kathleen Beasley; physician assistant student Natasha Germain; occupational therapy student Solange Ku; Melissa Durham, PharmD; and Christopher Forest, PA-C; was awarded a Poster Recognition Award for being among a select group of top-rated conference posters.
SRC Hosts 4th Annual Interdisciplinary Health Symposium

The SRC hosted its 4th Annual Interdisciplinary Health Symposium at the University of Southern California. Students and faculty from Medicine, Physician Assistant, Pharmacy, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy programs explored healthcare topics across the lifespan from pediatrics to geriatrics. They also worked together to solve a complex mental health patient case, experienced first-hand barriers of access to care and learned how to communicate effectively with a mental health patient.
SRC Presents at State-Wide Occupational Therapy Conference

Two SRC Research Chairs, Lindsay Miller and Solange Ku, presented at the 2014 Occupational Therapy Association of California 38th Annual Conference in Pasadena, CA. They shared our team-based model of care and current research endeavors, while also highlighting the unique opportunity for occupational therapy students to practice their clinical skills in a primary care setting when they volunteer with SRC.
